Wild World’s inaugural festival on the farm of Jester King Brewery in Austin, Texas, featured a salon-style tasting with over 60 wild-fermenting winemakers, brewers, and cider- and mead-makers. Panel and classroom discussions included, among other notable participants, authors Alice Feiring and Marissa Ross; winemakers Eric Texier (Rhône, FR), Hank Beckmeyer (La Clarine Farm, CA), Krista Scruggs (Zafa, VT/TX), Noel Telléz (Bichi, Baja, MX), Louis-Angoine Luyt (Chile), Jean Foillard (Beaujolais, FR), and Nate Ready (Hiyu Wine Farm, OR); brewers James Howat (Black Project, CO), Sam Regan (American Solera, OK), and Sean Spiller (Jester King, TX); importers Stephen Bitterolf (vom Boden) and Jose Pastor; retailers Lou Amdur (Lou Wine, Los Angeles, CA), and Steve Buechner (Light Years, Houston, TX); restaurateurs and beverage directors from Texas, NYC and beyond; and grape- and grain-focused farmers and millers from around the world.
